Throughout my three
years at Marian, I have heard encouragement for students to get involved in a
Marian-sponsored activity, club or service site. The only problem is that so many students take that advice so it
becomes hard to communicate with everybody.
It used to be a quick announcement during the morning or afternoon P.A.
announcements, but this year it all changed.
Now neither students nor faculty members are allowed to use that form of
communication. This makes it incredibly
difficult to get the news to the whole school.
In turn, some people are left out and feelings can get hurt. A solution would be putting the announcement
in the bulletin, but then that forms two more problems. 1. The homeroom announcements become too
long to listen to. 2. It also limits our creativity. It is my opinion (and I am positive that I
am not alone), that clubs should be allowed to make announcements again. If you still think it will be too long,
limit each club to two announcements a week, or only permit the faculty to make
the announcements. Either way,
something must change.
Sincerely yours,
