Caucuses cause competition for Bush
John Kerry is giving
President George Bush a run for his money.
In fact, Bush has hard competition by all the democratic candidates
running for president, such as John Edwards, Howard Dean, Al Sharpton and
Dennis Kucinich.
In the Iowa caucus, Kerry
came in first, and Edwards came in second.
In the Washington caucus, Kerry defeated Dean with 49 percent of pledged
delegates. Dean had 30 percent,
Kucinich came in third with 8 percent and John Edwards with 7 percent.
John Kerry was also in the
lead for the Maine caucus with 11 points over Edwards and 12 over Clark in
Tennessee. In Virginia, Kerry was 13
points over Edwards and 18 over Clark.
During the campaigning
process, several candidates have dropped out.
They are: Wesley Clark, Dick Gephardt, Joe Lieberman and Carol Braun.
