Q. How long have you had a
teaching career?
A. “Well technically only
three years, I graduated from college in 1993 but then I went and worked for
the Church as a youth minister from 1993 to 2001.”
Q. How long have you been
teaching at Marian?
A. “For the last three
years.”
Q. What classes do you
teach?
A. “Freshman Christ Life.”
Q. Does your day become
boring or repetitive since you teach six blocks of the same class everyday?
A. “You would think so but no. Each class has their
own personality and they all ask different questions so we discuss different
things. It’s almost as though I am teaching a different course every block.”
Q. What is your favorite
thing about teaching here at Marian?
A. “I love the fact that the
students are so comfortable in this environment. They can be smart, funny, and
motivated together without being worried.”
Q. What is the most
memorable experience you have had as a teacher here?
A. “During my first year of
teaching here a class of mine was having a talk about Jesus’ notion of the
Kingdom of God and I asked the students to imagine things and one girl had an
eye opening experience during this and I saw her turn around her outlook on
life in my class.”
Q. Are you involved in
anything else here besides teaching?
A. “Yes, I help coach Cross
Country and Track. I also do the retreats.”
Q. Describe your family
life.
A. “My wife and I have been
married for almost five years, and we just had a baby girl named Josephine
Grace. We are both teachers so we come home everyday and talk about all the
funny things that happened during the day.”
