Staff Spotlight:

Sam Troia

Christina Knowles

Growing up in Bellevue with seven sisters, Sam Troia definitely feels at home here at Marian. Troia has worked at Marian for three years, and recently left his duties in the lunchroom to concentrate on making sure our school is sparkling clean throughout the day.

Q: What are your cleaning duties around the school?

A:  "My duties include cleaning the quad, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, cafeteria and entryways."

Q: What are some difficult tasks around Marian when it comes to cleaning?

A:  "The quad is definitely a challenge.  It's hard because the tables are always being moved, and some people leave trash on them."

Q:  What are some things students could do to make your job easier?

A: "Use the trash cans. Just use the trash cans."

Q:  Do you think the students are respectful of the school's property?

A: "99.9 percent are, but the graffiti in the bathrooms really needs to stop."

Q:  What is your favorite part of the day?

A: "I like the students.  The students make me smile when I look at the mirror every morning.  When people say there is a Marian experience, I know it's true.  I love walking in the door, it's the whole experience. My daughter is two, and I can't wait to send her here."
