Fernandošs:
Bringing
Mexican Delight to Life
Katie

In
a world full of talking dogs and commercialized chalupas, Fernandošs does
Mexican food justice.
Fernandošs,
an Omaha chain located both on the southwest side of 114th and Dodge
and on 75th and Pacific, offers a widespread menu of
reasonably-priced Mexican food along with a few party-spoiling options
including hamburgers and chicken sandwiches. It is open for dinner every night of the week and lunch
every day except for Sundays.
The
food is smothered with flavor. At
$2 to $3, tacos, tostadas, burritos, and enchiladas can be offered ŗhola
carte˛. Full meals, appetizers,
and desserts also appear on the menu, ranging from about $5 to $12. Though a little greasy, it is a
mouth-watering experience.
At
the Pacific Street location, a roof topped with a table and chairs welcomes
customers right away. This type of
an enjoyable atmosphere is carried through to the inside of both
locations. The staff also added to
the friendly environment. On
Thursdays and Saturdays, The Los Indianos mariachi trio serenades customers
with Mexican tunes at the Dodge location.
The chain has a more sophisticated feel to it and is more subdued
compared to other Mexican restaurants, allowing for a relaxing experience.
Reservations
are not required but probably should be recommended, as they do get pretty busy
at dinner. The employees are very
accommodating to large groups and are willing to separate the check upon
request.
Fernandošs
is a fabulous choice for an easy dinner.
The prices are comparable to other chain restaurants, but this chain
provides a unique setting with true Mexican food.
